About EMDR Study

Making EMDR Research Easier to Understand

EMDRStudy.com is an educational website focused on the research behind Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.

EMDR has been studied for decades, particularly as a treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Research has also examined its use for other psychological and emotional difficulties, how EMDR may work, and different ways the therapy can be delivered.

Our goal is to make that research easier to find and understand without oversimplifying what the studies actually tell us.

What You'll Find Here

EMDRStudy.com explores clinical trials, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, treatment guidelines, and other relevant research.

Articles look at questions such as whether EMDR is evidence-based, what randomized controlled trials have found, how strong the evidence is for PTSD, what major clinical guidelines say about EMDR, and what researchers know—and don't yet know—about how EMDR works.

Our Approach to EMDR Research

Research doesn't always provide simple answers. Different studies may examine different populations, use different methods, measure different outcomes, or reach different conclusions.

That's why EMDRStudy.com aims to distinguish between what has been studied, what researchers have found, how strong the evidence is, and what scientists are still trying to understand.

Where relevant, articles link to original research, clinical guidelines, and other sources so readers can examine the evidence themselves.
